Share your Breakfast

This week I am promoting breakfast! It’s the best meal of the day, and has quite a variety! Kellogg’s has teamed up with Action for Healthy Kids to help provide breakfast for kids in school who may not get a morning meal at home. All you have to do is take a picture of your breakfast, load it onto your computer or send it in via text, and then Kellogg’s will donate a meal to a student. It’s very easy and will help you make sure to eat breakfast yourself! They have a map on the site that shows the different breakfast foods and whether they are popular in the different states. I found it very interesting to see what was popular in the state that I live in. So this week, whether you are eating breakfast with your family or just catching a quick cup of coffee on the way to work, remember to take a picture of it and send it in to donate a meal! Happy eating!

Until next week,
Annie

Orbit Gum

I’m sure many of us have seen the smiling white teeth of the girl on the Orbit gum commercial. Well this week we can appreciate that smile for promoting a company that is doing good! On special limited edition packs of Orbit gum there are codes that when entered online fifty cents will be donated to “Keep America Beautiful”. This is very much like myCoke rewards, the Disney movie rewards, and the Tropicana rewards in that all you have to do is enter the code on the product that you have purchased. Once you enter the code (one per day), you will be asked to register with your name, e-mail, and birthday (to make sure you are over 13). There are different designs and you can unlock things when you collect all four designs of each flavor. So get chewing and help keep our cities clean. Happy chewing!

Until next week,
Annie

Daily Feats

This week we are going to get points for the good things we do to help keep ourself healthy as well as helping others. Dailyfeats is a website that allows people to get points for the daily things they do, like eat fruits and vegetables, read, floss, etc. The points add up and then you are able to get local as well as premium rewards (like gift cards to different places). Dailyfeats creates a community in allowing its users to give props to other people’s feats and by doing so you get a point as well as the person you gave the prop to. It’s a way to reward others for their good deeds. They also have “feats” that reward you for giving, like going to the food bank, donating to the food bank, donating your gift cards, and more. They want their users to be rewarded for their good deeds as well as the things they do to keep themselves happy and healthy. It’s a great site and something I have taken part in! All you have to do is sign up for an account and then get started earning points! Happy feats!

Until next week,

Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution

More students these days are eating breakfast and lunch at school so what they are served should be of parents and others concern. We want to teach children at a young age how to eat right so that they continue doing so for the rest of their lives and remain healthy. Jamie Oliver, an awesome British Man, has set out to do so in the US. He started the revolution, which includes a television show, to help educate the American public on healthier ways to eat. His focus is school lunch because so many children are having lunch at their school and what they are served is not always the best food for you. I decided to do this week’s entry on the food revolution because on the site there is a petition you can sign to help bring better, fresher food, to the schools in your city. It is very easy to go on the site and sign the petition by entering your name, e-mail, and zip code. The more people that support this cause, the more effective it is! Happy healthy eating!

Until next week,
Annie
